Today I Wish to chat about Kombucha. Which is obviously entirely unrelated to these Banana Oatmeal Cookies, however I know you won't mind.

Allow me to begin by stating that my husband beverages apple cider vinegar mixed with water daily to decrease inflammation or something like that.

He claims it is magical. I claim it is nasty.

While I understand this is going to seem dramatic (cause it is), I literally dry heave in the sight and smell of his early ritual to a daily basis. He loves that around me.

Based on this response, an individual would feel I would stay far away from Kombucha, right? I suggest, after all, it certainly comes with a vinegary tang.

But for some reason, I keep trying it. I want to enjoy it SO DANG BAD.

These Banana Oatmeal Cookies are very simple to make and filled with banana flavor.

I am really a marketer's fantasy because each and every time I see somebody I know enjoying a sip, or touting their favorite brand and flavor using a boomerang on Instagram, I'm all,"Maybe that one will actually taste decent!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the word appreciating because I find it hard to think this stuff is truly enjoyable in any sense of the word.

And spoiler alert. None of them taste great. None.

Even the ones that people claim are mild are a large contraceptive for me personally. They still taste like freaking sweet vinegar.

I am basically convinced that anyone who drinks this fermented tea stuff gets zero taste buds, or badly awesome ones.

I've literally tried each and every brand that my neighborhood marketplace carries and I HATED, not disliked, HATED every single one.

While I'm not promising these banana oatmeal biscuits are the least bit healthy (cause hello butter and sugar ), I'm claiming that they are delicious.

They have the perfect amount of banana flavor and a beautiful chewy feel as a result of the oats. The chocolate chips are only an added bonus.

I enjoy these cookies somewhat about the back side side, so that I inhale them for 9 or 10 seconds. If you want them to be cooked through, I would shoot for 10-11 minutes.

I'll say that the oats makes them seem as a breakfast cookie, therefore they are all sorts of amazing using a cup of coffee or tea first thing in the afternoon.

I'd add some chopped walnuts into a batch rather than chocolate chips, but everybody definitely preferred the chocolate chips on the nuts.

BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES



PRINT RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup unsalted butterat room temperature

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

3/4 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup pops flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon



1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:



In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large bowl using an electric mixer, beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and then mix in the egg until fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add in the mashed bananas and click over here now vanilla.

In a medium bowlwhisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Gradually add the bread mixture to the banana mixture and blend until just combined.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and then stir to recombine.

Stir in the oats and chocolate chips and mix until incorporated.

Use a medium cookie scoop (about 1.5 tbsp ) to scoop the dough onto prepared cookie sheets leaving about two inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then lightly press the tops of each cookie with the bottom of a drinking glass. Considering these cookies don't spread much, this will help give them a traditional cookie form.

Permit the banana oatmeal cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack to cool thoroughly.
